My partner's parents call about money trouble every few months and every time it turns into us quietly moving things around so we can send them something. No real conversation about it, it just happens.
I don't say anything because I don't want to be the person keeping score on family emergencies. But three years in, it's starting to feel less like helping out once in a while and more like we're the backup plan for an entire extended family.
Not sure what the actual question is here other than wondering if this is just how it goes now or if it's supposed to even out eventually.
