Full-time daycare in my city costs more than my rent. We are a two-income household and still cannot make it work without dipping into savings every month. Are there any subsidy programs or co-op childcare models that have actually worked for people here?

  1. We started a childcare co-op with three other families in our neighborhood. Six kids, each family covers one day a week. Completely changed our budget.

  2. There are state subsidy programs based on income. Check the Child Care and Development Fund. Takes time to apply but the money is real.
