Does anything exist that locks in the price you see at checkout before the currency conversion hits? Ordered a jacket from a UK site last week, final charge came through almost 30 dollars higher than what the page showed me at checkout. My bank says it's just how the exchange rate gets applied after the fact, nothing I can dispute. I don't even buy from overseas sites that often, but between this and the fees it barely feels worth it anymore. Does anything flag that before you hit pay, or do you all just eat it every time?

  1. I ran into this exact thing with a watch strap order last month. Ended up just screenshotting the price in my own currency before paying so I'd have proof if I wanted to dispute it, but that's not really a fix, just a paper trail.
