Does anything let you rent a backup battery for just hurricane season instead of buying a whole setup? The Generac quote we got was insane for something we'd maybe need two weeks a year. We're renters anyway so a built in system isn't even on the table. Just want the fridge and a fan to survive a four day outage without setting ourselves back a few grand.

2. Check if your renters insurance covers spoiled food. Mine did.

3. We ended up buying a small portable power station instead of a whole home generator. It covers the fridge and some lights for about two days. Much easier for renters to justify the cost.
