Been reading way too much market news this week trying to understand why everything feels so shaky and i think i finally get the picture. brent crude crossed 100 dollars a barrel again after houthi attacks on tankers near the red sea, which is the first time its been that high since may. that alone would be enough to rattle things but its happening at the same time as a pretty rough pullback in big tech names, alphabet and tesla both took real hits recently. what gets me is how the swings dont even look like a normal bad week anymore, one analyst called it crisis level volatility becoming the new normal, which is not a comforting sentence to read with your coffee. add in consumer sentiment softening because people are worried about both inflation and the job market and you get this weird mix where nothing feels stable but nothing has officially crashed either. i keep checking my small investment account like checking a wound. it doesnt hurt less, i just cant stop looking.
