Landlord just sent a 19% rent increase notice. In writing. For a 1-bedroom I've been in for 4 years. The lease renewal is in 6 weeks. I make decent money but this would be $340 more per month. The math doesn't work. Housing in this country is broken.

1. Colorado has no rent control so they can do this legally. Your options are negotiate, find a roommate, or move. Awful but that's the reality. Denver's been like this since 2021.

2. Have you looked at Aurora or Lakewood? I moved 15 minutes out and dropped $300 a month.
