My company moved everyone to a new 'flexible' health plan this year that technically costs less in premiums.

Then my son needed stitches last month and I found out the actual deductible more than doubles what I was paying before, buried in a document nobody walked us through at open enrollment.

My coworker on the old grandfathered plan pays almost the same premium and has half my deductible. We do the same job.

I keep wondering how many of us are quietly paying more for the exact same title on our badge.

  2. Grandfathered plans. The one perk of not getting a promotion in six years.

  3. Open enrollment paperwork never actually explains deductibles like that until it is too late.

  4. That's infuriating. Same job, different outcome.

  5. This is such a quiet unfairness. Hope it gets looked into for everyone on that plan.
