Landlord texted today asking for an extra 80 dollars this month for 'building maintenance fees.' Not in the lease. Not explained. Just a number and a Venmo request. Second time this year he's tried this. Paid it anyway because I don't want to be the tenant who gets 'noticed.'

  1. wait is that even legal... I'd be scared to push back too honestly but maybe check your lease again just in case there's something about added fees needing written notice
