Cisco posted record quarterly revenue and cut almost 4,000 jobs in the same breath. Great news everyone, the company is doing great. I don't even know what "doing well" means anymore if it still ends in layoffs.

The record revenue part gets me every time. It's never framed as "we need to cut costs," it's always "we're doing so well" and also cutting 10 percent.
