- FIFA listed a category 3 seat for the World Cup opening game at $5,324 on their official resale platform. Face value: $895. A seat for the final appeared at $143,000. Then FIFA called the platform a way to "protect fans from scalpers." The doublespeak is impressive. Real fans are completely priced out.
- Coachella weekend 2 tickets were gone in 8 minutes. Eight minutes. Then they reappeared on StubHub for 4x face value. The bot scalping problem at live events has become completely normalized and nobody with the power to fix it seems to want to. There has to be a better way to distribute tickets fairly.
