Got the new domain up this week, finally. Took about a day and a half to get the portfolio looking half as good as the old one did, and I'm still rewriting captions on photos I've had online for years.
Three clients found me through the old broken link anyway, turns out a couple of them had bookmarked the site directly instead of googling it, so that part worked out better than I expected.
Registrar never did explain what actually triggered the takedown. Just a generic policy email and a case number that goes nowhere when I reply to it.
Rebuilding search rank from zero is the part nobody warns you about. Anyone know how long that usually takes for a small site like mine?
