- maybe im overthinking this but my freelance income has swung so much the last few months that i genuinely cant tell if im behind on savings or just having a slow quarter... one month covers everything with room to spare and the next im shuffling money between accounts just to cover rent. tried a regular budgeting app for a while but it assumes a steady paycheck every two weeks which isnt my life…
- my manager keeps pushing deadlines up without ever mentioning extra pay, and im now routinely working till almost nine most nights. want to actually track my hours properly so i have real numbers next time i push back, instead of just a vague feeling that im underpaid for what im doing. any good way to log this that doesnt feel like another chore
- Warehouse cut my shift from five days to three after they brought in more automated sorting machines so now my paycheck is basically a coin flip every two weeks. Keep overdrafting because I forget which bills hit before payday. Anyone know a budget app that actually works when your income changes week to week
- Quarterly estimated taxes were due last week and I did the math wrong again and ended up owing way more than I set aside, and since freelance income already bounces around every month I genuinely cannot keep guessing what percentage to put away, so does anything calculate what you owe as you go instead of me doing frantic mental math every quarter
- Every Friday I'm the one typing everyone's expense receipts into a spreadsheet because nobody else will. Whole afternoon, gone. There has to be a way to automate pulling receipt totals into one place.
- How do you figure out what to charge as a freelancer? Picked up photo editing on the side because my hours got cut at my regular job, and I'm pretty sure I'm underpricing myself badly compared to everyone else. Right now I just guess a number and hope nobody laughs.
- run a tiny freelance design biz on the side and i spend way too many sunday nights chasing invoices that are 3 or 4 weeks late. does anything automate the reminders?? i hate being the one awkwardly texting clients about money
- Put a chunk of rent on a credit card during a slow stretch of freelance work and now Im just watching the interest eat everything I throw at it. Never carried a real balance before so I have no clue what Im doing. Which card are you supposed to pay down first? Is there a tool that maps it out or is it all vibes
- ever since i went freelance my income is all over the place and im tracking it in a messy spreadsheet i forget to update half the time. tax season blindsided me last year and i refuse to let that happen again. what do other freelancers use for irregular income? ideally something without a ton of manual entry
