- my income based repayment plan is up for recertification again and the paperwork wants three different kinds of proof for one pay stub that already says everything on it. missed the deadline once already because i didnt understand what they needed. anyone have a system for staying on top of this? im so tired of googling forms at midnight
- Student loans came back into repayment right when my new job pays less than the one I lost. I have a spreadsheet now. The numbers don't work out.
- I graduated with $67k in student debt in 2023. Payments are $510/month. I work in public health and should be eligible for PSLF, but the forgiveness program keeps getting tied up in court challenges. Three years of qualifying payments and I still don't know if they count. No one can give me a straight answer.
- The income-driven repayment plan I enrolled in two years ago just got frozen again by court order. My payment jumped $340 a month with no warning. I planned my entire budget around the program the government told me to sign up for. At what point is this just fraud?
- Finished paying off my undergrad loans last year. Felt incredible for about a week. Then I did the math and realized I paid back nearly double what I originally borrowed. I did everything right. State school, part-time job, graduated on time. Still handed a bank fifteen years of my life.
