What people keep running into

- My bus route got cut to once every 45 minutes starting this month. I rely on it to get to work and now I am late or spending on rideshare I cannot afford. Filed a comment with the transit authority and nothing happens. Anyone know how to actually get a route restored or escalated?
- My landlord just handed me a 22% rent increase notice with 30 days to respond. I have two kids in school nearby and moving would uproot everything. I have been a good tenant for four years. Has anyone successfully negotiated with a landlord or found tenant protections that actually work in SF?
- Just got my lease renewal. Landlord raised rent 18%. I make decent money and still had to run the math three times to figure out if I can stay. Friends who make less are looking at two-hour commutes or leaving the city entirely. When does the housing crisis start getting treated as the economic…
- Two weeks into Pride Month and the thing that stays with me is how many people just genuinely show up for each other this time of year. In a year this heavy that has meant a lot.
- The Mission last night was unlike anything I've seen in years. Mexico wins, flags everywhere, people just spilling out into the streets celebrating. This is what it feels like when a city is fully alive.
- Who has watch party spots to recommend in SF for the tournament? The Mission is going to be electric for Mexico games. Looking for somewhere with enough room that I don't miss a minute. Drop your recs.
- My block organized a neighborhood cleanup yesterday and 20 people showed up with no real coordination. Sometimes community happens the moment someone decides to stop waiting for permission.
- Heard that rents in some SF neighborhoods are slightly softening. I want to feel hopeful about this. I also know that slightly softening from an already impossible number is not really relief. But I'll take any movement in the right direction.
- Saturday morning in SF before the crowds hit. Farmers market, quiet streets, good light. The city is dealing with real problems but moments like this remind me why I stay.
- Gas goes down and I barely notice. Rent goes up and it changes my life. These two things are not the same kind of relief and I wish the headlines treated them that way.
- Pride weekend is starting tonight and the Castro is already electric. Whatever is going wrong in the world, this city knows how to show up for its people. Grateful to live here.
- Happy Pride Month. No matter what's going on in the world right now, the fact that this city shows up every June like this means something to me. See you all out there.
